Flag State Inspections

We are officially authorized to carry out Flag State Inspections on behalf of the Panama Maritime Authority (PMA) and the International Merchant Marine Registry of Belize (IMMARBE). These inspections are conducted to verify that vessels comply not only with applicable international conventions—such as SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, and the ISM Code—but also with the specific national regulatory requirements and policies of the respective flag administration.

Our role is to ensure that vessels operating under these flags meet the required standards of safety, environmental protection, and operational integrity. Each inspection is tailored to the flag state's guidance and procedures, helping shipowners maintain good standing, avoid detentions, and ensure continuous compliance.

With our detailed reporting and practical recommendations, we support a smooth inspection process and a stronger, more resilient safety culture on board.

Internal ISM / ISPS/ MLC Audits

We conduct internal audits to assess the effectiveness and compliance of both shipboard and shoreside systems under the ISM CodeISPS Code, and MLC 2006. These audits help ensure your safety management, security protocols, and crew welfare standards are fully aligned with regulatory expectations and company procedures.

Our audits cover vessel-based operations as well as company offices and shore-based departments, supporting a seamless and compliant Safety Management System across your entire organization. Findings are delivered in clear, prioritized reports—ideal for preparation ahead of external audits or for driving internal improvements.

Port State Control (PSC) Preparation Surveys

Our Port State Control (PSC) Preparation Surveys are designed to ensure your vessel is fully prepared for inspections under the Paris MoU PSC regime. These surveys are a critical part of maintaining operational continuity by identifying potential deficiencies before they impact your vessel’s performance or result in costly detentions.

We provide a thorough review of the vessel's:

  • Safety Equipment & Compliance: Ensuring life-saving appliances, fire-fighting systems, and pollution prevention equipment meet regulatory requirements and are ready for inspection.
  • Operational Systems & Machinery: Verifying that key systems like propulsion, navigation, and cargo handling equipment are functioning within required parameters.
  • Documentation & Certification: Ensuring all required certificates and operational documentation are up to date and readily available for PSC officers.
  • Crew Competency & Training: Assessing crew familiarity with procedures, emergency drills, and their understanding of key operational systems, ensuring compliance with STCW requirements.

Our PSC Preparation Surveys are a proactive way to safeguard your vessel's operational schedule, avoiding unplanned delays, fines, or detentions. By addressing any deficiencies in advance, we help you stay on course for smooth, uninterrupted service, ensuring regulatory compliance and uninterrupted business operations across global ports.

Condition Surveys

Our Condition Surveys are a comprehensive and impartial assessment of a vessel’s physical and operational condition. Whether you’re preparing for a sale, purchase, charter, or simply need to evaluate the ongoing safety and performance of your fleet, we provide you with a detailed, objective evaluation of key areas, including:

  • Hull & Structural Integrity: Assessment of the vessel’s external structure, including the hull, decks, and any areas prone to wear and tear, corrosion, or damage.
  • Machinery & Systems: A thorough inspection of main propulsion, auxiliary machinery, and electrical systems, ensuring that all critical operational components are functioning at optimal levels.
  • Safety & Compliance: We evaluate onboard safety equipment, fire suppression systems, life-saving appliances, and environmental protection equipment, ensuring compliance with both flag state regulations and international conventions.
  • Operational Readiness: From bridge equipment to cargo systems, we ensure all operational components are in compliance with industry standards and ready for operational service.

Each survey includes in-depth documentation, with clear and actionable recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or maintenance needs. Our objective is to help you manage risk, avoid unplanned downtime and make informed decisions—whether you’re negotiating a sale or optimizing a vessel's ongoing operations.

Hatch Covers Ultrasonic Weather Tightness Inspections

We provide Ultrasonic Weather Tightness Inspections for hatch covers and other weather deck openings and divisions, using the Hatch Sure by Cugnus, an advanced ultrasonic testing system designed for accurate, non-invasive measurement of weather tightness. These inspections are essential to ensure the integrity of your vessel’s cargo holds and other weather-exposed areas, particularly in harsh maritime conditions.
Our team is certified
by Cugnus, the manufacturer of Hatch Sure, to carry out these inspections with precision and reliability. We use cutting-edge technology to detect even the smallest leaks or potential issues in hatch covers, weather deck openings, and bulkhead divisions, which are critical for maintaining vessel safety and preventing water ingress that could damage cargo or disrupt operations.
Each inspection is followed by a detailed report, offering clear findings and practical recommendations for any necessary repairs or maintenance. This proactive approach ensures your weather-tight divisions remain fully operational, reducing the risk of operational downtime and ensuring the safe transport of goods.
